No. NC doesn’t recognize any online courses for certification requirements in the permit application process. Classes must be in-person and be 8 hours in length in addition to a range qualification.
There is a little more to it... Students will receive the certification that is required in the application process at your local sheriff's office for your Concealed Handgun Permit. You will make an appointment to be fingerprinted. After passing the federal background check and mental health history, you will be issued your NC permit to carry concealed that is also valid in 37 other states. Don't worry; we will walk you through entire process of obtaining your permit.
We do have range rental packages available for $25 to include everything required for the qualification. If you want to bring your own handgun, you'll also need to bring 30 rounds of ammunition, ear and eye protection (optional: extra magazines, if you have them).
We will be firing from the 3, 5 & 7 yard lines, 10 rounds at each distance. Students will need to get 70% (21 out of 30) to pass. You won't need a holster for this class. Don't worry, we coach students on marksmanship prior to doing this with training simulation tools. Must students (even beginners) are able to get 100% score.
You can openly carry in NC at the age of 18 if you don't have anything legally preventing you from possessing a handgun. Simply put, without a concealed handgun permit, the officer must be able to see the handgun if you have it in the passenger area unsecured (not in locked container). However, if the handgun is behind the last upright seat or in the trunk, there is no locked container requirement for the "non-visible" firearm. There are no legal stipulations regarding whether firearm is loaded or not for NC.

We offer handgun, rifle, and shotgun courses both private and group sessions taught by law enforcement and veteran instructors. From beginner to advanced students, all are welcome.
Yes, the class certificate does not expire and will be valid when students apply at 21 years of age.
Our Concealed Carry Classes will only have a maximum of 10 students. Our Defensive Firearms classes are a maximum of 4 students. Churches, realtors or companies looking to host a larger class for their needs, we can do special classes to accommodate.

After discovering the rewarding pleasure of assisting his sons, friends, family & church members in understanding handgun safety, operation and marksmanship fundamentals, Jim began teaching concealed carry classes and firearms instruction professionally beginning in 2017. He is certified as a NC Laws Governing Deadly Force, NRA Pistol, Rifle & Shotgun Instructor, Range Safety Officer. Jim was professionally a Licensed Armed Protection Officer and is currently serving as a Deputy Sheriff and a Church Security Leader.
Ben has a background in firearms, armory, infantry training and firearm sales. He has numerous certifications through the National Firearms Association.
Both bring a wealth of experience and training that adds great depth of understanding towards the carrying of a handgun concealed for self-protection.
